Own product – concept, design & full-stack development

Pike turns 90 days of training with friends into a league. It scores how much each person improves against their own Day-1 numbers – beginners and long-time lifters compete on equal terms. Add a voxel gladiator that grows with your numbers, a weekly quota, a trash-talk feed where proof is mandatory and a full workout tracker. Built for a handful of friends, not for followers.
Pike is web-first: Next.js on Vercel, Convex as a reactive backend for leagues, workouts, proof and scoring in real time, Clerk for accounts. Android gets a thin signed APK that opens the web app full screen with its own icon, push and share sheet; iPhone installs it from Safari to the home screen. Updates land on every visit – no store review. The gladiator is a procedural voxel figure in React Three Fiber, rendered live in the browser.

The app
Screens from the app
One board the whole league argues about
Day counter, your own gladiator, the week’s four quota squares, what has moved since Day 1 and the standings with the gap to the rung above – all on one screen. Underneath, the feed: every workout needs a photo or clip, and friends approve it, react to it or flag it as suspicious.

Scored fairly: progress, not a head start
1000 points across relative strength, conditioning, consistency, training volume and body recomposition. Every pillar measures improvement against your own Day-1 numbers and ranks it inside the league by z-score. Load is measured in Work Units – minutes times effort – so a lift, a ride and a football match count on the same board, no wearable needed.

Five pillars, 1000 points
The gladiator cannot lie
Everyone forges a procedural voxel gladiator at the start, kept across seasons. Its body is a pure function of your numbers: strength widens the torso, cardio adds greaves, gear drops the moment a stat passes 60. Missed training days make it slump, missed weeks leave battle chips – visible to the whole league.

Rendered live with React Three Fiber
The dark side of the board
An optional second ledger for the nights: a beer, a shot, a kebab at 3 am are converted into standard drinks, calories and the minutes of running it would take to call it even. Pike then shows how training the morning after compares to the rest of the season – the insight no other app has.

Day 90: the vault, the podium, the trophies
At the end of the season the league opens a blind comparison: through a public link, anyone judges who changed more – no names, no faces. Then comes the Championship Wrap with a podium, ten trophies and every record of the season, frozen forever.

Compare beginners and advanced athletes fairly in one league
Only improvement against your own baseline counts, normalised by z-score inside the league: average improvement earns half the cap, two standard deviations above earns all of it.
Honesty without wearables or a moderation team
Proof for every workout plus peer verification: friends approve or flag, the commissioner settles disputes, untouched entries verify themselves after 24 hours.
Ship a native-feeling app without depending on app stores
Web-first, installable as a PWA and as a thin Android APK that only provides the shell – every change reaches everyone instantly, no review cycle.
